Chinese Visa Process

If you are transiting through China

If you join a tourist group formed by an ITA registered in Hainan with the approval of the China National Tourism Administration to visit Hainan Province and their stay is not more than 15 days

• If you have a valid APEC business travel card.
• If you have a Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Card.
• If you have a Residence Permit for Foreigners issued by the Ministry of Public Security.
• If you are already in Hong Kong or Macao and join a tourist group formed by a travel agency with registration in either Hong Kong or Macao for a trip to the Pearl River Delta region for not more than 6 days.

What Are the Requirements for a China Visa for Indians?

When applying for a China visa, Indians must submit the below mentioned documents:

• A valid passport: You must have a valid Indian passport for at least 6 months from the date of entry and have two blank pages.
• A completed application form: You must fill out the application form online; it must be printed single-sided and signed in blue or black ink.
• A passport-sized photo: The size of the photo must be 48mm x 33mm, and taken within the last six months against an all-white background.
• Proof of residency: You must provide residence proof of your current address i.e. driver’s license, any government ID, or utility bill.
• Previous Chinese visas or passports (if applicable): If you have formerly held a China visa or Chinese passport, you have to submit a copy of the passport’s data page, the photo page, and a copy of the former China visa.
• Certificate of Covid-19 vaccination
• Proof of itinerary: Submit the Visa, ticket with the dates of arrival and departure.
• Proof of accommodation: You have a rental agreement, a lease, or any other paper that proves your accommodation. The paper submitted by you must have your name, the dates of stay, and the address of the place.

Additional documents, depending on the type of visa:

China C visa: issued to foreign crew members by means of international transportation, including aircraft, trains and ships, or motor vehicle drivers engaged in cross-border transport activities, or to the accompanying family members of the crew members of the above-mentioned ships

• A letter of guarantee from your travel company.

China J visa: issued to resident foreign journalists of foreign news organizations stationed in China.

• Official letter from your media organization. A visa notification letter issued by China’s Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.

China M visa: issued to those who intend to go to China for commercial and trade activities.

• An invitation letter issued by your Chinese trade partner or fair organizer on the Chinese side.

China Q1 and Q2: visas issued to those who are family members of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with Permanent Residence in China and intend to go to China for family reunion, or to those who intend to go to China for the purpose of foster care

• An invitation letter from the Chinese citizen that includes their residence permit.

China S1 and S2: S1 allows a stay of more than six months, while S2 is issued for shorter visits.

• A completed JW202 form.

China Z visa: Z visa is issued to those who intend to work in China

• A letter of invitation from the company with whom you will work.
• A Foreigners Employment Permit.
